The unbreakable spirit of Miami-Dade
On August 24, 1992, Hurricane Andrew made landfall in South Florida cutting a path of devastation unlike any other storm that could be remembered.with no power. That was it. Now I never in my life could imagine a city like Miami without any traffic lights. But people did adjust quite well and yes as a community we did function quite well. That was a positive surprise. Of course there was also the presence of the National Guard. Power was restored in our area with two weeks. Other areas did not fare so well as the video shows.
